Google Domain Migration to Squarespace

google domains now joins squarespace and all the information you need to know about that and how it effects your business

As a client with a Google Domain, you should be aware that all Google domains have now officially migrated to Squarespace. This transition occurred gradually over the last year, and you should have received an email confirmation sent to the address associated with your Google Domain. Now that the migration has been completed, you can access and manage your domain directly through your new Squarespace Domains account by logging in.

Squarespace maintains the core functionality of Google Domains; you continue to have access to key features such as support for all DNS records and email settings that are associated with your domain.

What Has Changed?

Squarespace supports the same wide range of languages and currencies that were available through Google Domains, offering familiarity and ease of use for international clients. There are some advanced features they don’t currently support. However, for the majority of users, the tools provided cover most domain management needs.

New Features and Improvements

As part of the migration, Squarespace introduced an upgraded domains dashboard that provides improved management capabilities. This new dashboard offers a streamlined and more intuitive user experience, making it easier to manage your domains. Additionally, Squarespace plans to roll out bulk domain management and other enhanced features soon, providing even more flexibility in how you handle multiple domains.

What About Pricing?

For those who were Google Domains customers prior to the migration, you will be pleased to know that Squarespace is honoring your existing domain renewal prices for at least 12 months. After September 7, 2024, all migrated domains will renew at Squarespace’s standard rates. For specific pricing or renewal inquiries, we recommend contacting Squarespace customer support.
