Watch Our Original Backlink Party
Goldman Sachs 10,000 Business Alumni program hosted at Silicone Slopes on July 9, 2024. This is a great video to watch to understand the strategy and how to use AI to build your content.
Backlink Party Recap: Learning SEO and Building Authority Together
I recently had the opportunity to teach a Backlink Party workshop for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Alumni Network, and it was one of those events that perfectly captures what I love about working with entrepreneurs. When business leaders gather in the same room with the shared goal of learning and growing together, incredible things can happen.
During the session, we walked through the foundations of search engine optimization (SEO) and why it matters for every modern business. Many entrepreneurs have incredible expertise but struggle to translate that knowledge into online content that search engines—and potential customers—can find. Together we explored how search engines evaluate authority, relevance, and trust when deciding which websites deserve to rank.
One of the most exciting parts of the conversation was discussing how AI can support content creation without replacing the human voice behind a brand. We talked about how business owners can use AI tools to generate ideas, outline helpful articles, and structure content that answers the real questions their customers are asking online. When used thoughtfully, AI becomes a powerful assistant that helps entrepreneurs share their knowledge more consistently.
Of course, the highlight of the Backlink Party was the collaborative exercise. Participants partnered with other business leaders to identify relevant backlink opportunities between their websites. Instead of chasing shortcuts or outdated link-building tactics, the focus was on building authentic connections between companies that naturally support one another’s audiences and expertise.
This approach reflects the JamboJon philosophy: the best marketing grows out of genuine relationships and valuable content. When businesses collaborate, share knowledge, and create helpful resources together, everyone benefits—including their customers.
It was inspiring to watch the Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses alumni community lean into that spirit of collaboration and take practical steps to strengthen their online presence.
