Have a Clear Goal in Mind
Imagine starting at a trailhead, knowing exactly where you are and where you’re going. Armed with maps and compasses, you know that if you get off track, you can easily correct any missteps with logical problem-solving and adaptability. Reliant Plumbing approached JamboJon with a clear goal in mind. They just needed a guide to teach them how to get there. Since they had an existing website, they knew that they needed a fresh design, better optimized for SEO, faster, and equipped for future growth. They wanted the ability to add pages and make changes on their own in an easy-to-use format. But, as with any great adventure, the path wasn’t completely smooth.
Much like an orienteer encountering unexpected barriers, our redesign for Reliant Plumbing came with its own set of challenges. First, our client requested a sticky header. While this feature worked well on desktops, it posted significant problems for mobile users. Also, launching the website on the host, Cloudflare, led to complications with server configuration. Lastly, Reliant Plumbing wanted to use their own images to keep the site authentically theirs.
Step Back and Recalibrate
With each of these challenges, the JamboJon team stepped forward with workable solutions. The sticky header obstructed important content, disrupting the user experience. To overcome this, we implemented a fly-out menu on mobile, preserving functionality without compromise. The complex launch became a valuable learning experience. We navigated the Cloudflare configurations and server challengers with care, and made sure that the final product was as reliable as the plumbing services Reliant offers. For the images, we had to be resourceful, using their images creatively throughout the site while maintaining a cohesive and visually engaging design.
Much like an experienced orienteer teaches new adventurers how to navigate their own trail, we worked to empower Reliant Plumbing to manage their own digital platform. From creating new pages to writing SEO-friendly content, we equipped their team with the knowledge they need to confidently navigate their site’s future. They no longer need to rely on outside help to make updates. With the new skills and tools at their disposal, they’ve charted their course for long-term growth, confident in their ability to take their business to new heights.
