Changing Trails, But Not the Ride – A Transition for cMac
Same Mission, New Path
As an entrepreneur, once you launch your small business, your online systems settle into a routine. It feels like riding a familiar bike down a well-used trail. The smooth ride gives you space to focus your attention on more pressing concerns. At some point, the trail grows unpredictable. You’ve got the right equipment (your brand, your content, your goals), but the path underneath your wheels gets too rocky. Slow page loads, hosting issues, or outdated backend systems can affect performance. Suddenly, what used to work. . . doesn’t. If you have invested in a solid website structure, you don’t always need to reinvent the wheel. Just find a better trail.
In early 2025, cMac Contracting found themselves in a similar bind. They didn’t need a site overhaul. They didn’t need a rebrand. They just needed a website that worked better. They struggled with hosting reliability and their digital home no longer matched the level of professionalism they brought to their industry. They needed to move the site to a better host without changing the customer experience. Like any trail switch, there were a couple bumps along the way.
A Seamless Switch
To keep the ride smooth for cMac, JamboJon carefully replicated their existing website structure before initiating the hosting transition. The design, layout, and content remained the same. Think of it as swapping the trail without touching the bike. Once the site went live, we noticed some inconsistencies. Certain pages didn’t display correctly, and the layout needed some editing and adjustments to maintain a consistent feel. Rather than starting from scratch, we used what we had. We reshuffled layouts and supplemented sections with existing imagery and messaging to ensure a cohesive site experience.
- Replicated cMac’s existing website structure
- Edited layout to maintain consistent look
- Supplemented missing sections with existing images and content
